Ensemble Classes

Ensemble classes provide a supportive and inclusive environment where young participants can explore their creativity, develop their artistic abilities, and build important life skills. Jazz Combo

 

Semester offered: Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall

Requirement: Eager to delve into the world of jazz music. These students typically have a passion for music and a desire to explore jazz as a genre. They may have varying levels of experience on their chosen instrument, ranging from beginners to those with some prior musical training.

Age group:       10 years to 17 years

                            5th grade - 12th grade

Tuition:             $35 per session

Duration:          60 minutes

This ensemble provides an opportunity for students to explore and develop their skills in improvisation, rhythm, and ensemble playing within a jazz context. The combo typically consists of a rhythm section (piano, bass, and drums) and one or more melodic instruments (such as saxophone, trumpet, or trombone). The combo rehearses regularly, focusing on learning jazz repertoire, understanding basic jazz concepts, and developing fundamental jazz techniques. Through this experience, students gain exposure to the rich history and expressive nature of jazz, and they have the chance to perform in concerts or other public events, fostering their musical growth and passion for jazz music.

Chamber Ensemble

Requirement: Interest in music and desire to learn

Age group:       Open to All

Schedule:         Friday, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Tuition:             $40 per session

Duration:          60 minutes

 

Beginning orchestra is made up of 1st year players who have at least 1 year of experience playing a stringed instrument. Auditions are not necessary for this ensemble. Students interested in learning to play a stringed instrument or students needing another year of entry level techniques should sign up for this class. The beginner class will be taught entry level techniques, music language/vocabulary, musicianship, basic sight-reading, and an overall appreciation for music. Beginning Orchestra is meant to be a preparatory group for Intermediate/Advance Orchestra the following year.

Rock Ed

Rock Band

Requirement: Interest in music and desire to learn

Age group:       Open to All

Tuition:             $35 per session

Duration:          60 minutes

 

A unique opportunity to play in a live band! Come together with people who have different tastes in music to play rock and roll, hip hop, or mobile game application covers, and your own originals. Instrumentalists should know basic chording. The band rehearses weekly and will be given opportunities to play in live gig(s)! This is a chance to discover what it takes to be a rock star in a band.

Intermediate Rock Band

Duration:          60 minutes

Designed for students who want to develop music-making skills and music literacy using primarily rock and pop music. It is an introductory level course, so no previous experience is needed. This class is an introduction to get newer players involved in the rock band experience. You can be vocalists, guitarists, bassists, drummer, keyboardists or percussionists.

A Capella Group

Requirement: Interest in music and desire to learn

Age group:       Open to all

Tuition:             $35 per session

Duration:         60 minutes

 

 

The students will learn the basics of a capella and harmonizing in a variety of musical 

styles. The group will cover pop, classical, and altenative music in a fund and engaging 

environment with other enthusiastic singers.  Not only will students see an increase in performance skills and musicality, but also in self confidence, presence, and the ability to work as part of a team.
