OUR vision
Generation Music & Arts Academy (GMAA), formerly known as Dandan Performing Arts Center (DPAC), is a 501c(3) California non-profit organization that provides equitable access to high-quality, contemporary music and arts education from toddlers to adults in the communities of San Lorenzo and the surrounding cities.
The arts surround us. However, music and arts are often unavailable to everyone due to socio-economic constraints. The opportunity to be immersed in a rich musical environment where an individual can develop themselves to become creative thought leaders of our society are only available to those who can afford them.
We believe the arts should be celebrated within our communities and made accessible to all, regardless of their means. We created a holistic program in response to the lack of accessibility to high-quality contemporary music and arts education in the East Bay Area.
The appreciation for the arts is oftentimes missing in today's education system and also in young people's lives.

Generation Music & Arts Academy strives to inspire, educate, and empower the youth to become creative thought leaders of tomorrow.
We envision Generation Music & Arts Academy as the center of music and arts innovation for the East Bay Area.

Our shared values are the guiding principles of GMAA's teaching and learning environment.

Generation Music & Arts Academy recognizes that we are living and working on the ancestral land of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe of the San Francisco Bay Area. The land of San Lorenzo is the homeland of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe. In Chochenyo, Muwekma means “the People.” We acknowledge and respect their connection to this region and give thanks for the opportunity to live, work, learn, and be part of a community of stewardship and inclusion.
